What we discuss will be held in confidence and not shared with others. However, our discussions are not privileged for legal purposes. The privilege of confidentiality that exists for the clergy, therapists and attorneys is not granted to coaching professionals. That said, career coaching is a confidential process, and your personal information will always be protected.
Coaching is done over the phone or through Skype in the privacy of your home for comfort, ease, and convenience. Each session follows a similar format, we review your homework exercises, identify what you want to focus on “today”, and your desired outcomes from the call, explore the issues and how it relates to the overall theme and desired outcomes that you set.
To experience the effectiveness of the Life Coaching Matters program, we suggest clients make an initial three-month commitment. At the end of the three months, we will evaluate progress and discuss options for continued coaching. It is not unusual for it to take three months for a client to feel comfortable, and another three to implement change…every client is different. Our work together isn’t limited to our scheduled phone calls. Following each call, you will email a Follow Up Form as well as a Weekly Update Form. We are available in between sessions through email or calls.
We require a 24 hour notice to cancel all sessions in order to avoid being charged for the session. Our time is valuable, and so is yours. If you’re late for your appointment, you lose that time. If you don’t show, you’ll be charged in full. In turn, we promise to honor our appointments, and be on time as well.
While the Career Coaching we provide can be therapeutic, it is not therapy. Career Coaching is distinct from traditional therapy because it is not designed to address psychological issues. Career Coaching is created to raise a level of awareness in you to uncover your career calling and to create a career plan so that it can be made to become a reality. While emotional issues may arise, the primary focus of coaching is to help you identify your goals, achieve them, and develop constructive habits and skills. There is little emphasis placed on the past with coaching, but instead the focus is on creating what you want now and in the future. Simply…therapists deal with problems, coaches have GOALS to achieve! As a Certified Professional Coach (CPC), I abide by the strictest ethics set forth by the International Coach Federation (ICF).
Transformational Career Coaching can take you above and beyond your own personal limitations. More often than not, people try to achieve their greatest potential, but don’t even realize what stands in their way. A Transformational Career Coach can offer an unbiased and objective perspective, and can help you realize your patterns and habits. Most people experience that they are more efficient when working with a Professional Coach and that this provides the opportunity for them to better realize their potential. Career Coaching can make your dreams attainable and will give you support and encouragement along the way.
Each session is tailored to the client and will vary based on individual needs. In the beginning, we will discuss what you are committed to accomplishing through our work together and we will begin to create a plan to achieve your goals. Periodically, I will give you assignments to help direct your progress. We will work together to acknowledge obstacles, explore alternate perspectives and celebrate successes. With the conclusion of each session, we will revisit your goals and evaluate the next steps that are needed to achieve these results.
At Life Coaching Matters, we are passionate about giving people the support and tools they need to feel empowered. Heidi is a Certified Coaching Professional, a business owner and executive, as well as a brain cancer survivor; she has walked 250 miles up the Eastern seaboard, speaking at schools and organizations about her own personal story and in the process inspired those she met along the way. Heidi knows first-hand what it takes to confront life’s challenges both during and afterward; she knows what you and millions of others face after having dealt with life changing events. Heidi also feels in many respects as though she was middle aged before she actually became middle aged, having dealt with issues that many others her age didn’t have to deal with until they were much older…she got a head start.
As someone having dealt with career changing events, I know what challenges one may have to overcome in life to regain those feelings you remember once having had as a successful business person. It can be a struggle to find either what you once had or what you believe you should have. Coaching is a safe, supportive place to focus on you and what you need in order to succeed.
A Transformational Career Coach is a trusted mentor who can help you identify and uncover what keeps you from reaching your fullest career potential. It is a one-on-one relationship that provides a supportive and non-judgmental space to help you create what you want for yourself. You can find a Coach to help you strategize and acquire the tools you need to achieve your dreams.
