The power of that “magical question” is huge. Transitional Life Coaching uses “questioning” because a great question has the capacity to stop the receiver of the question in their tracks, and to get them to start to think in a different way.  It can open up an awareness that they’ve never realized. As humans we often develop a particular way of thinking-that thinking becomes our inner machine, and in turn everything works for us in the same usual way.

Powerful questions are able to stop us from thinking in that same usual way…suddenly we begin to think outside “the box”. It’s when we step outside that box, that those great ideas and thoughts come to us.

I’m not talking about closed ended questions, those simple “yes” or “no” questions. These simple kind of questions won’t really get us thinking about much of anything. For instance: How many hours did you work yesterday?  Most likely, you don’t have to think too long about that question. You might be really tired from having worked a long day and so it takes you a bit of time, but it’s not getting you to search your soul and deep feelings.  I’m talking about open-ended questions that get you to search your inner feelings.  I’m talking about a question that’s not about how many hours you work, but instead: How was your day? Anything special happen today?  What in particular did you like about your day, or didn’t you like about your day? These type of questions really get you thinking about yourself. It’s the way to finding out what you really like, what you would want to do for a living, where you would like to live, who you would like to spend your life with…it’s amazing what powerful questions can bring to the surface. Powerful Questions are an important start and part of what makes Transitional Life Coaching so effective. Wouldn’t it be terrific to have a Transitional Life Coach to work with and walk with you down the road to EMPOWERMENT? These are a few questions you can ask yourself? What are you thinking now?

  • If you were to FULLY live your life, what is the first change you would start to make?
  • What could we work on now that would make the biggest difference in your life?
  • What are you tolerating or putting up with?

Like I said, these are just a few questions…there are so many more.
